Steatite | Hester de Wolff

Four years ago, I discovered the allure of porcelain and since then I set out to bring more and more refinement into my porcelain work. This search soon led me to the broad and sometimes uncertain world of color pigments. Over the course of the last few years I have experimented with extracting pigments from rocks and various procedures to incorporate these pigments into porcelain. The ceramics you see here are colored with the rock steatite.
